Hello! Many apologies for the lack of updates. From the onset of the MEAN stack, I've been consistently behind and only kind of caught up during Project Week at the end of the whole thing! Needless to say, MEAN was a whole nother beast that I thought I was ready for, but wasn't. I mostly blame the ease of Python and the new concepts introduced by Javascript, especially the callbacks that are so common to it. I really need to take a weekend or two to catch up, but time is always scarce, especially since we are in iOS now. Did I mention that?
For iOS, we're learning Swift, Apple's own programming language for building apps and stuff, based on Objective C, which in turn is based on C. I know some basic C/C++ already, but Swift is pretty far removed from C, having its own unique syntaxes and concepts. I'm a little behind for iOS too, but I blame that on this killer multi-day headache that put me out of commission for a few days. iOS also seems pretty fast paced, with a 24-hour "hackathon" every week from Thursday 4pm to Friday 4pm. Pretty intense, considering that it's overnight. Also, once a week? I feel there could be some better use of this time. Oh well. This week's was postponed from Thursday to Friday morning, with presentations on Monday morning, meaning that we have the weekend as well to work on our hackathon project. I'm still suffering from this headache, and at the Dojo on a Saturday.
